Спецслужби Латвії перевірять інформацію про можливі контакти євродепутатки з ФСБ
Служба державної безпеки Латвії оцінить інформацію про можливу співпрацю депутатки Європарламенту Татьяни Жданок з російськими спецслужбами.
Про це повідомляє Delfi, пише "Європейська правда".
СДБ нагадує, що до 2016 року нормативна база Латвії не передбачала кримінальної відповідальності за допомогу іноземній державі або іноземній організації в діяльності, спрямованій проти Латвійської держави, тому інформація, опублікована в медіа щодо періоду з 2005 по 2013 рік, не може кваліфікуватися як злочин.
Хоча, за оцінкою латвійської спецслужби, така діяльність становила загрозу державі, тоді було неможливо притягнути за таку діяльність до кримінальної відповідальності.
За оцінкою СДБ, важливим фактором, що полегшив діяльність Жданок на підтримку геополітичних інтересів Росії, став її статус депутата Європарламенту і юридичний імунітет, який надає цей статус.
За даними спільного розслідування Re:Baltica, The Insider, Delfi.ee і Expressen, ФСБ РФ завербувала євродепутатку з Латвії Татьяну Жданок, яка представляє партію "Русский союз Латвії". Розслідувачі стверджують, що Жданок працювала з кураторами з П'ятої служби ФСБ щонайменше з 2004 року і просила в них гроші на проведення заходів.
Сама Жданок стверджує, що "не співпрацювала і не співпрацює зі спецслужбами".
У Європарламенті заявили, що президентка Роберта Метсола "дуже серйозно ставиться" до звинувачень щодо Жданок, у зв'язку з чим вона передає цю справу до Консультативного комітету з кодексу поведінки.
