ЄС закликав грузинську владу відкликати закон про "іноагентів"
Топдипломат Євросоюзу Жозеп Боррель та єврокомісар із питань розширення Олівер Варгеї прокоментували остаточне ухвалення парламентом Грузії скандального закону "Про прозорість іноземного впливу".
Як повідомляє "Європейська правда", заяву Борреля та Варгеї опублікувала Європейська служба зовнішніх справ.
Посадовці Євросоюзу наголосили, що ухвалення цього закону негативно впливає на прогрес Грузії на шляху до ЄС, водночас вибір подальшого шляху знаходиться в руках Тбілісі.
"Ми закликаємо грузинську владу відкликати закон, підтвердити свою відданість шляху до ЄС та просунути необхідні реформи, викладені в 9 кроках (Єврокомісією у контексті набуття країною статусу кандидата в члени ЄС)", – йдеться в заяві.

Боррель і Варгеї назвали неприйнятними залякування, погрози та фізичні напади на представників громадянського суспільства, політичних лідерів та журналістів, їхні сім'ї, а також закликали грузинську владу розслідувати ці дії.
За їхніми словами, 9 кроків, викладених у рекомендації Єврокомісії як умови кандидатства в члени ЄС, вимагають захисту прав людини та забезпечення вільної діяльності громадянського суспільства й засобів масової інформації.
"Євросоюз чітко та неодноразово заявляв, що дух і зміст закону не відповідають основним нормам і цінностям ЄС. Він підірве роботу громадянського суспільства та незалежних ЗМІ, в той час як свобода асоціацій та свобода вираження поглядів є фундаментальними правами, що лежать в основі зобов'язань Грузії в рамках Угоди про асоціацію та будь-якого шляху вступу до ЄС", – зазначили посадовці.
Водночас Боррель і Варгеї вказали, що Євросоюз готовий і надалі підтримувати грузинів, які працюють на шляху до європейського майбутнього.
Нагадаємо, 14 травня парламент Грузії схвалив у фінальному третьому читанні скандальний проєкт "Про прозорість іноземного впливу", під парламентом поліція почала розганяти людей, сталися сутички й затримання. Перед тим депутати побилися під час дебатів.
Через свою подібність до російського закону про "іноагентів" ініціатива партії влади "Грузинська мрія" викликала гостру критику Заходу й частини грузинського суспільства, яке влаштовує регулярні протести біля будівлі парламенту.
Помічник державного секретаря США з питань Європи та Євразії Джим О'Браєн уже попередив, що на Грузію можуть чекати фінансові обмеження в разі, якщо закон про "іноагентів" не буде приведений у відповідність до стандартів ЄС.
